Carolyn Stockbridge

1965 -

Carolyn Stockbridge was born in Canterbury, England, and moved to Canada in 1979. She has studied at schools and universities such as the Art Students League of New York and the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, earning her BFA from Emily Carr University of Art and Design and her MFA from the University of British Columbia (UBC). She is also a composer, having produced scores and experimental music for independent films and projects. Stockbridge has exhibited both nationally and internationally at venues such as the CICA Museum in Korea, the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro, the Atlantic Gallery in New York, and Vancouver’s Access Gallery. She is currently based in Vancouver, where she teaches painting and visual arts at UBC.
