ᑮᓇᖅ | Faces

April 2- April 26

Robert Kardosh Gallery (formerly Marion Scott Gallery) is pleased to announce Faces, our first feature exhibition of spring 2025. Comprising works in various media by more than 20 practitioners from Nunavut and Nunavik, this engaging exhibition explores the many different ways in which Inuit artists have represented one of art’s most enduring themes: the human face. Encompassing drawings, prints, textiles and sculptures, the installation juxtaposes expressions of happiness and melancholy, joy and sadness, astonishment and contemplativeness.

The exhibition includes works by Luke Anguhadluq, Shuvinai Ashoona, Mary Ayaq, Nicholas Ikuuti, Naomi Ityi, John Kavik, Elizabeth Nutaaraaluk, Tivi Paningajak, Itee Pootoogook, Kananginak Pootoogook, Nick Sikkuark, Jimmy Taipana, Lucy Tasseor, Winnie Tatya, Jutai Toonoo, Thomas Udjuk and others.

Opening Preview Reception: Wednesday, April 2, 6-8 PM
