Qamanittuaq ᖃᒪᓂᑐᐊᖅ: Stone, Paper, Cloth

Robert Kardosh Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of works by Inuit artists from Qamanittuaq, also known as Baker Lake. Comprising works produced from the late 1960s through to the late 1990s, Qamanittuaq ᖃᒪᓂᑐᐊᖅ: Stone, Paper, Cloth will include drawings, prints, wallhangings and sculptures. The exhibition features a number of rare stonecut prints from 1970, the year the settlement produced its first annual print collection. The works in the exhibition express the lifestyle and spiritual beliefs and ideas of the people of Qamanittuaq, giving viewers an opportunity to experience the artistic legacy of one of Nunavut’s most celebrated artmaking collectives.
