Jamasee Pitseolak to participate in the Contemporary Art Symposium

Jamasee Pitseolak will participate in the Contemporary Art Symposium, to be held at the National Gallery of Canada on February 9th. Entitled “History, Collecting and the Art Object,” the daylong symposium will raise questions around the themes of translation and the political and cultural implications of institutional collecting. Pitseolak will participate in a panel discussion moderated by the NGC’s Greg Hill. Pitseolak will also give a talk about his work in the National Gallery of Canada’s exhibition spaces on February 10 at 1:00 pm. He will be joined by fellow artists lessLie, Shannon Bool and Landon Mackenzie.

Pitseolak’s work is currently featured in the 2017 Canadian Biennial, on view at the NGC until March 18, 2018.
