Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory in Naak Silavit Qeqqa? at the Art Gallery of Ontario

The performance work of 2021 Sobey Art Award-winner Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory is featured in a new permanent exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Entitled Naak Silavit Qeqqa?, the multi-media presentation features a two-sided video installation produced in collaboration with Iqaluit-based digital artist Jamie Griffiths that also includes a soundscape by Celina Kalluk. Complementing the exhibition is a display of stone sculptures from the AGO’s permanent collection by such renowned Inuit sculptors as John Kavik, John Pangnark and John Tiktak. The sculptures were originally acquired by Robert Williamson, the artist’s late father.
