Megan Kyak-Monteith Featured in Inuit Art Quarterly

February 2, 2021

Megan Kyak-Monteith’s paintings are the subject of a feature article in the Winter 2020 issue of the Inuit Art Quarterly. In the article, author Tarralik Duffy takes a close look at Kyak-Monteith’s contemporary painting practice, noting that the Halifax-based artist’s works explore themes of personal and family history within a context of broader issues having to do with the function of memory and cultural displacement. Many of the works discussed in the article were featured in We Play the Same, Kyak-Monteith’s solo exhibition at MSG in 2020.
