Niap performs in Toronto at Arctic/Amazon

September 19, 2019

Montreal-based Niap is featured in a live performance at the Arctic Amazon symposium on Thursday, September 19. Organized jointly by The Ontario College of Art and Design University and the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, the two-day conference brings together speakers, artists and scholars from North American regions of the Arctic and Amazonian zones. The purpose of the gathering is to develop collaborative strategies that centralize traditional knowledge aimed at protecting and energizing indigenous and non-indigenous communities amid tumultuous environmental times. Niap’s performance will be documented for a future video installation. Vancouver’s Mark Igloliorte is also one of the symposium’s participants.
