Nick Sikkuark in “Humour and Horror” at the National Gallery of Canada

November 14, 2023

Nick Sikkuark: Humour and Horror, the first major retrospective of this important Inuk artist, opens November 17 at the National Gallery of Canada. Sikkuark’s distinctive blend of naturalism, dynamic inversions of scales and otherworldly themes have left an indelible mark on contemporary Inuit art and on Canadian art generally. Showcasing more than 100 unique works of art, the retrospective includes both sculptures and drawings, giving viewers an opportunity to see the full spectrum of Sikkuark’s fascinating artistic practice. The exhibition runs until March 24, 2024.
