Tarralik Duffy in Pop Chip Kukuk at SAW

August 26, 2022

Tarralik Duffy’s exhibition at Ottawa’s SAW features the artist’s interpretations of pop imagery associated with various junk food products commonly consumed in Inuit communities across the North. Co-curated by Taqralik Partridge and SAW’s Jason St-Laurent, the exhibition features images of potato chip bags, soda cans and chocolate bars in a range of media that includes prints and soft sculptures. Also included in the installation is a video of Super Shamou, a popular Inuk superhero, accompanied by drawings based on a comic book version. The exhibition is on view until October 15.
