Shuvinai Ashoona’s Solo Exhibition at The Perimeter: “When I Draw”

January 25, 2024

The Perimeter, a contemporary art exhibition space in London, England announced its first show of 2024 – a solo exhibition of Shuvinai Ashoona’s work aptly named When I Draw. The show opens on the 24th of January and runs to the end of April. Those hoping to attend the exhibition are required to book an hour-long timeslot in advance, with up to eight guests in attendance. The intimacy of the environment will undoubtedly enhance Ashoona’s work, as viewers will be able to delve deeper and more vulnerably into Ashoona’s coloured-pencil world. The exhibit focuses on depictions of daily Inuit life in Kinngait with a healthy dose of surrealism – the artist’s trademark. Experience the strange and exciting stories hidden within the Canadian Arctic. From the mundane to the otherworldly, Shuvinai Ashoona holds nothing back. This is the first time since the Venice Biennale in 2022 that her work has been shown in Europe.
