Janet Nungnik Featured in Inuit Art Quarterly

Janet Nungnik’s textile work is featured in the current issue of the Inuit Art Quarterly. In an article entitled “Threading Memories,” Inuk writer Krista Ulujuk Zawadski examines past and present textile expression in Qamani’tuaq (Baker Lake). Nungnik’s densely sewn work is singled out for its contemporary artistry and singular vision.

Called Threads: Restitching Art Histories, the issue is devoted to sewing practices across the North.
