Shuvinai Ashoona is one of the several Indigenous and non Indigenous artists featured in Future Geographies: Art in the Age of Climate Change, currently on view at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Curated by the VAG’s Eva Respini, the exhibition considers the intersection between contemporary art, represented across a range of media and traditions, and the climate crisis caused by human-generated global warming. Ashoona’s large-scale drawing examines the shifting relationships between technology, nature and various life forms in the Canadian Arctic.
Future Geographies continues at the Vancouver Art Gallery until January 10, 2027.
